The Kongliga Hofclericiets Historia writes about him that "... during the plague of the pest who was so terrible for the town of Stockholm, he was the only court-clergymen who stayed in town. The others fled with the king to Falt or retired in the rural area of Selberget. Christopher Strauch was after all contaminated with the pest and died in november 1710"
