"Dear Mister von Alemann,
Thank you for your kind message. Indeed now it function very well and I can easily find the ancestors in the different generations.
Maby I can give you some more information about some persons in your genealogy (my additional data are in the color blue):
Samuel Strauch and Magdalena Dauth had, according to your data, one sone: Aegidius Strauch maried with Elisabeth Bezelius:
Elisabeth Bezelius was born 14-7-1658 'Tyska fors.' (Swedish for 'German parish') in Stockholm. She had the folowing brothers and sisters (only one sister did not die in childhood):
Elisabeth (o 1656, + 1657); Christopher Dietrich (o 1660, + 1660); Margaretha Charitas (o 1662, + 1727, x Johan Martin Ziervogel, 'livmedicus' at the royal Swedish court; after his ennoblement he took the name 'Rothloben'); Anna Rosina (o 1664, + 1674); Christopher Dietrich (o 1668, + 1668)
Aegidius Strauch and Elisabeth Bezelius had, following your data, a son: Carl Gustav Strauch (o 21-12-1692). But there where more children from Aegidius Strauch and Elizabeth Bezelius:
Anna Magdalena (o 23-4-1701 Tyska fors Stockholm, + 9-4-1732 St.Olaiparish Stockholm, x 1-5-1718 with Hans Lindstedt o 11-1-1685 Torphyttan near Lindesberg (Sweden) + 25-3-1754. He lived in Norrkoping as a merchant; since 1723 'riksdag'member (member of the Swedish parlement). He possesed a lot of real property in Norrkoping. They had a daughter Maria Margaretha Lindstedt who married Peter Berg); Anna Barbara (o 1679, x Hovapot Ziervogel, xx N.N. Brehmer); Elisabeth Charitas (o 1680, + 1721, x Fortkapitein David Gerdes, xx Postkommandant Eric Esseen); Christopher (o 1682, + november 1710. clergyman on the royal court in Stockhol. The Kongliga Hofclericiets Historia writes about him that "... during the plague of the pest who was so terrible for the town of Stockholm, he was the only court-clergymen who stayed in town. The others fled with the king to Falt or retired in the rural area of Selberget. Christopher Strauch was after all contaminated with the pest and died in november 1710"); Samuel (o 1685, + 1708, auditor); Johannes (o 1686, + 1687); Aegidius (o 1688, + 1688); Carl Gustaf (mentionned by you); Christina Magdalena (o 1694, + 1754, x Christian Sharenberg); Augustus (o 1696, + 1696); Euphrosina (o 1698, x Paul Christian Schroter, Dresden Germany).
Elisabeth Bezelius (o14-7-1658) was daughter of:
Christophorus Bezelius (o 1628 Magdeburg Germany, + 26-5-1689 Stockholm and burried in the Storkyrkan in Stockholm. He studied in Wittenberg and Helmstadt. Magister in Helmstadt. Field-clergyman in the Swedish army in 1650. Clergy-man and confessor of the queen-widow Maria Eleonora. Vicar in the German community of Stockholm in 1655. Pastor in 1666 and pastor primarius in 1677. He was owner of the house Vasterlanggatan nr. 67 (a magnificient still existing house, called 'the red house' in the old town of Stockholm, where his son in law Aegidius Strauch also lived, and a house in Soderhalm) I have pictures of painted portraits of Christopher Bezelius and Aegidius Strauch and of the tombe of Christopher Bezelius in the Storkyrkan. Christopher Bezelius was son of N.N. Bezel, bookprinter in Magdeburg Germany, and N.N.)
x 25-9-1655
Barbara Scherle (o ca. 1630 Germany, + 20-5-1686 Tyska fors. Stockholm. She met her husband Christopher Bezelius probably on the Swedish royal court where here father was musician in the royal band. Barbara had a brother Friedrich who was, as his father, also musicien; in the burial-register he is mentioned as 'kungliga musicus'.)
Barbara was the daughter of Ambrosius Scherle, o ca. 1600 in Germany (place unknown). Ambrosius was as a violist musicien on the royal Swedish court in Stockholm. In 1621 he was still a musicien in the Brandenburg Orchestra. He came from Berlin to Sweden in 1640. There is a short notition of his arrival in Sweden in the book Kungliga Hovkappelets Historia 1526-1926.
The mother of Barbara Scherle: N.N. (unknown)
The above mentioned persons are ancestors of my Swedish wife. Here family disposes of an old family-archive in which is writen that the birthdate of Samuel Strauch is unknown, but that he was the son of Aegidius Strauch and Euphrosyne Cranach. This seems plausible for different reasons:
- Samuel Strauch had a son Aegidius (named after his grandfather).
- Aegidius Strauch (maried with Elisabeth Bezelius) was, as his father Samuel and his presumed grandfather Aegidius, also a clergyman. There seems to be a family-tradition of this rather rare profession.
- Aegidius Strauch (maried with Elisabeth Bezelius) had children named Augustus and Euphrosina, possibly named after his presumed great-grandparents Augustus Strauch and Euphrosina Cranach. Especially the first name Euphrosina was very unusual in Sweden, and, I suppose, was also in Germany not common. The fact that a daughter in de 4th generation was given this name could indicate a family-tie.
But after all, the only certain ancestor in the Strauch-linie is Samuel. His parents and further genealogical quarters remains uncertain. In your genealogy you wrote that Samuel Strauch was born 8-6-1621 in Dresden. Mayby you know his parents.
Furthermore I found one internet-site where some ancestors (Gericke, Feurhake, von Orloge) are further worked out in one or more generations than in your genealogy. This site is:
<http://www.geocities.com/thcw1968/Haenchen/VORFAHR.HTM>
I aim curious to read you about Samuel Strauch,
Kind regards,
(You may as well write me back in German. I understand your language perfectly but have some difficulties to write it correctly)
